• You will be provided with a light snack and beverage.
  • The nursing staff will provide you with postoperative instructions that you will be required to follow
  • Discharge times vary for each individual patient.
  • You must have a responsible driver to take you home. You will NOT be permitted to drive.
  • You CANNOT use a cab, bus or shuttle unless a family member or friend accompanies you.
  • Transportation provided by an ambulance, wheelchair van or Council on Aging are OK.
  • If your surgery is scheduled after 3:00 pm, your driver must stay at the facility for the duration of your stay.
  • For your comfort and safety, we highly recommend that you arrange for a responsible adults to stay with you for the first 24 hours after surgery, as you may still be feeling the effects of anesthesia.
  • During this 24 hour period you should NOT:
  • Drive a vehicle
  • Drink alcoholic beverages
  • Operate machinery or power tool
  • Make any important decisions or sign contracts
